Our River Adventure begins by following the same route as the Mini Adventure, enjoying all the fun activities it offers.
But, we continue rock-hopping deeper into the valley to a natural cave, before reaching the main attraction:
a breathtaking river pool with jumps of varying heights and a small waterfall!
(about 20–45 minutes beyond the Mini, depending on pace)
Here we’ll chill out for lunch and enjoy the magic of the river - Swim, explore, or brave the jumps.
Discover the tunnel behind the waterfall, cool off under its refreshing shower, or dive into the crystal-clear pools.
Whether you find a spot of shade or soak up the sun with mountain views all around,
this is the perfect place to relax, recharge, and connect with nature.

Our Mini Adventure is perfect for birthdays, families, and younger explorers.
Covering approximately 1.5 km of hiking and rock-hopping, it’s an easy yet exciting way to experience Bainskloof’s natural beauty.
The adventure begins with a gentle 10-minute hike, followed by a quick downhill to our first refreshing river dip.
After a short break, we continue rock-hopping to the next river pool (about 15 minutes, depending on pace).
Here, we relax under a shady tree for lunch (or set up for your birthday party), swim, test our bravery with small jumps,
and explore the surroundings as a family. For those feeling adventurous, a surprise or two awaits along the way!
This delightful outing surrounds you with breathtaking mountain views, fresh air, and crystal-clear water.
Expect to spot dassies and rock agamas (aka Bloukop Koggelmanders) in their natural habitat
while your mind forgets the everyday stresses.
Difficulty: Slightly challenging (light climbing, some slippery areas, loose rocks, and a few steep steps)
Recommended for ages: suitable for children 4 years and up (but we’ve had 3-year-olds loving it too!)
Duration: Can be completed in as little as 1 hour, though kids rarely want to leave — plan to return around 3pm

This adventure is Bainskloof's best-kept secret & covers a 1.5 km out-and-back hike.
While not long, it features a few steep up-and-down sections, some climbing, and stretches with moderate heights —
so grab your trekking poles and get ready to be amazed by the unreal scenery!
Following the river, we marvel at the natural beauty that surrounds us.
Along the way, numerous smaller waterfalls and crystal-clear rock pools tempt you to take a dip or snap a photo.
Just when you think you’ve seen it all, a hidden Secret Waterfall appears around the corner —
a spectacular spot where a waterfall shower is simply compulsory!
We'll chill here for lunch before following the same route back.

We follow the Bobbejaan's River for a challenging 6.5 km uphill hike out to reach the 3-tiered Bobbejaan's Waterfall.
Join us on this 3-hour trail to discover a true gem with an amazing pool, a giant tiered waterfall,
and a 12-meter jump for the adrenaline seekers!
We break here for lunch and enjoy a bit of swimming, exploring the pools, climbing rope ladders,
searching for hidden caves, and snapping what feels like a million jaw-dropping photos.
On the way back (another 6.5km, but downhill), we make a stop at the Disa Waterfall,
because who doesn’t need even more unforgettable photo opportunities?

If the full 6.5 km hike to Bobbejaan’s feels a bit too ambitious, why not try the halfway experience?
This adventure begins with a 3.5 km uphill hike, leading to a steep descent down to the stunning 3m high Disa Waterfall.
Here, a refreshing splash pool awaits — perfect for cooling off and enjoying a relaxing lunch break.
After soaking in the scenery and recharging, we make our way back up the hill — but don’t worry, once we get back to he top the return journey is all downhill, making for a manageable and rewarding adventure
for those wanting a taste of Bainskloof’s beauty without the full hike.

This adventure takes us through the stunning Limietberg Nature Reserve, home to small antelope, dassies,
and occasionally caracal or leopard — don’t worry, the big cats sleep during the day!
Bird lovers may also spot endemic species, like the Cape sugarbird, protea canary, and the majestic black eagle.
We begin with a 30-minute hike over rolling hills along a gravel path before descending to the river,
where our first stop is an amazing river pool with two small jumps.
From there, we rock-hop approximately 4 km down the river - a circular route returning to our starting point.
Along the way, you’ll enjoy all the activities described in our River Adventure and Mini Adventure experiences — swimming, jumping, exploring, and soaking in the breathtaking surroundings.
It’s a fantastic day out where you can truly lose yourself in the beauty of nature.

This relaxed adventure is perfect for cooler days! It covers approximately 5 km and is ideal for all ages!
The walk gently winds downhill along the scenic Limietberg slopes,
offering breathtaking views over the Wellington farmlands.
In the spring/winter months, the valley becomes especially magical,
with small streams cascading down the mountainside, enhancing the sense of peace and natural wonder.
Once we reach the valley floor, we stop at a local coffee shop for a well-earned refreshment
before being driven back up the historic Bainskloof Pass to our starting point.
A gentle outing with big scenery — ideal for families, friends, or anyone wanting to soak up nature at a slower pace.
Difficulty: Easy (a few slippery areas, some loose rocks)

A long 8.5km out & 8.5km back hike.
This 17km hike isn’t too tough, but it’s a good stretch – the reward at the end makes every step worthwhile!
Along the trail, you’ll pass through pristine mountain scenery, rivers, and lush valleys,
with several swimming spots perfect for cooling off along the way.
The last stretch involves a little bit of bundu bashing & walking in ankle deep water – adding to the sense of adventure –
before arriving at the breathtaking prize: a hidden 50m waterfall cascading into a crystal-clear splash pool.
If you’re looking for a hike that combines beautiful nature, refreshing swims, and an epic final destination, this is the one.
